Hello my fellow crafters!
I am thrilled to be working through my craft stash for this year. In an effort to be more sustainable, I want to focus on not consuming when I don’t need to. I have plenty of supplies save for a few small essentials that I can pick up as needed. This is just a short overview of some projects that I am thinking of completing throughout 2025.
Yarn Stash Plans
I feel the most confident with working through my yarn stash. I’ve always had a bit of an aversion to keeping too many skeins of yarn on hand at one time so my present self is really thanking past me.
- Asymmetrical triangle shawls
- Cowls
- A blouse or two
While my goal is to work through my stash, it isn’t to completely use up all of my yarn. I just want to use what I can and save my leftover yarn for a possible scrappy project down the road. After I work through these projects I am going to be very diligent in only getting yarn for pre-planned projects.
Fabric Stash Plans
Now this is going to be tough. While I have always felt a strange sense of anxiety around having “too much yarn”, I never felt that with fabric. Maybe it is because I see fabric itself as “finished” and worthy of display in and of itself. A silly notion I know but I really have never felt that I had an egregious amount of fabric. Now that I have organized my stash and can see all the fabric I have- yup-oops- that’s a lot of fabric.
- Knitting Needle case for my interchangeable knitting needles
- Quilts
- Would love to make a few throw quilts around the house
- Would love to do a hexi quilt like a grandmother’s garden quilt
- I also have 3 quilt kits that I really should focus on and finish this year
- Re-usable gift bags (I have a selection of thrifted Christmas prints just for this reason)
Stationary Stash Plans
One of my favorite things to collect is stationary, mostly vintage cards that I find at thrift shops. While I have no major plans for busting this stash, I do want to better utilize what I have, and part of that means organization. I simply need to find a way to better display and take stock of what stationary I have and work through the card packs that I am not totally in love with first before focusing on using my favorites.
